An interview for the ages. I teared up in a few places. I hadn't heard anyone describe the difference between trading in the floor and trading alone in front of a screen so poignantly until today.
JJ you come across as refined, articulate, humorous and thoughtful. If you keep this up the great unwashed hordes of flash-in-the-pan trader podcasters are in trouble.

JJ: After watching your excellent interview with Maggie, I realized I must dig into your archive for more insights. Is there a way to access the archives by date rather than scrolling? I visited the different Chicago floors dozens of times between 1976 and 2006 (just twice on the old NY floor that traded everything from OJ to gold), and I was always a suit in a sea of trading jackets - an obvious pigeon! I loved the buzz and learned a lot in those Irish bars around the CBOT! Best, V
there is a tab for "latest" or chronological and "top" for most popular. There is also a tool bar below the header with "short stories" and "deep dives" (longer pieces on gold silver and bitcoin). The daily notes are really a day by day history of technical development. If you have any more questions please come back to me. Substack is a great place to write but very wonky to manage ... have great night!
This is the 5th I've done in a few months. Gary Bohm in July (metals and miners). Doomberg in November ( dep dive in oil and natty). Tony Greer on Dec 9 on Clearcom commodity p'cast... oil then and now) and Tony Greer and Jared Dillian on their weekly Macro-Dirt, natty and Canada).
I am always pushing the 10 minute pod cast abt markets that are moving NOW. Big picture stuff is good but most of us say the same things and they're alwayds a bit sale.
Just saw your comment before the lights go out...Your history and understanding of where you were and what contributed to your current commentary are unlike anyone.
Your commentary is very much like your story telling. Your life and the work are one tapestry. Your commentary is the top-side and your life is the stringy stuff woven in
the back that makes it all possible. I do subscribe to TG and he is golden.

Ty vm for the honorable mention, Derek. Maggie did a great job of putting it together.
