“I haven’t been everywhere but it’s on my list.” Susan Sontag
There was no way Trump could have foreseen the coordinated resistance to his first term or the depth of its political depravity. But now everyone sees it. What is obvious today, on the 4th day of his administration, is that his lessons are his weapons now. This blitzkrieg of action has blown the opposition, here and abroad, away like a nuclear wind. One could almost feel the testosterone pouring out of the WEF yesterday like a castrated bull being readied for slaughter. Estrogen pouring out of gender insanity. The power of common sense trampling out the wrath of the climate scams.
Trump lost nearly everything in 2020 except the faith of the American people. If Jan 20 was D-Day, this is D-4. Freedom is off the beaches, moving with force and confidence. The opposition is completely leaderless because they have no one to lead. America has suffered utter devastation. The country needs succor and money. California is still burning. Trump made it clear yesterday that any money coming to Ukraine for any reason, whether for war or reconstruction, is coming from tariffs. Not the American people. Daddy’s home.
In the news this morning:
The BOJ hiked. JPY barely noticed.
Trump ordered the release of the JFK, RFK, and MLK assassination records yesterday. He was candid about not doing it in his first term because Pompeo “asked” him not to. John Ratcliffe was confirmed by the Senate to run the CIA yesterday. Ratcliffe is a Pompeo protege. Trump canceled Pompeo’s classified security clearances on Wednesday.
Musk is scrutinizing Boeing, which is a bit of a redux from 2016 when Trump threatened to cancel an order for a new Air Force 1 because they were charging him $4 billion. “The next iteration of the fabled presidential jet is years behind schedule, $2.7 billion and counting over budget and a major headache for Boeing's Chief Executive Officer.” Musk’s SpaceX is a competitor, according to the BBG report, which is awkward. The upshot for the two new jets is, “Trump might be lucky to board the new plane before his second term ends.” Lol… the art of the deal!
Hegseth goes to a vote.
In the markets this morning:
We’re covering the Coin, gold, oil, copper and stocks:
Bitcoin is higher. I drew a line at $103,685, which is a number I’m watching. If prices close under $101,280 (yesterday’s low), I’d read that as a negative development, especially since volumes have been high in these various attempts to break into new high ground.
