Bitcoin miners and AI finally meet.
What was the first iteration of AI?
The earliest known reference to, and use of the wheel is in Mesopotamia around 3500 BC when unspoked wheels were in use for making pottery. Definitly an upgrade in speed to market. Obviously, without wheels, AI would not exist. Therefore, the primary source of anything cannot be separated from its future iterative being.
Around 1450, Gutenberg invented the printing press and the movable type system in the Latin alphabet. This revolutionized the spread of knowledge with the mass production of books, making information exponentially more accessible. It was a leap not unlike AI today, transitioning information from handwritten manuscripts to printed materials. Two centuries later, The London Gazette, considered to be the world’s first newspaper, was published on November 7, 1665. For five hundred years, the era of information was the era of the printed word. In 1900, there were over 50 newspapers in NYC alone. Today, there are five.
Soon there will be one or none, I think. I wonder... Is AI even in the same league as the Gutenberg press? Let’s take a trip back in time and see.
